“Unbelievable Experience”

Words can’t express the wonderful experience we had at Satori Villas. The staff and accommodations were bar-none! The villas were beautiful and quiet. We enjoyed every second there! We took advantage of all it had to offer: the chef dinner prepared in our kitchen, in room massages, and the personal driver. We felt like royalty and were treated like we were! Each master suite was perfect for 2 couples to share. I can’t wait to return some day!

“Awesome place! Great stay!”

We stayed in Banana villa ( one of the villa of Satori villas). It’s an awesome place. The villa had 3 rooms with attached toilets and bathroom and 1 room had toilet next to it. All the 3 rooms were spacious with view of swimming pool and rice fields. Only 1 room was relatively smaller with no great view. The kitchen is well stocked with food, cutlery and utensils if you plan to cook. Here are number of options we can select for breakfast and the cook and help were really fast in preparing and laying the breakfast. The villa is little inside and you have to walk for 10-15 mins to reach from Ubud central parking but it is amidst lovely rice fields and secluded from busy Ubud. You can’t reach villa in a car or van. Only way to reach is by foot or bike. There is ample help from Satori villa to pick you up from Ubud central parking and also carry your bags. The location is great as you are just 15 mins away from the main Ubud market. We enjoyed staying in this place and will definitely come back again!!

“Ubud Vacation.”

We enjoyed our time at villa Siri. The villa was very clean and wecomfortable. The location was beautifully set in the rice fields. Very peaceful yet so close to amazing Ubud and it’s culture and food. The staff was very friendly and were available for anything we needed. Thank you Satori for an amazing vacation in Ubud Bali.

“Fabulous and luxurious stay in one of Bali’s most beautiful settings.”

We have been visiting Bali for over 30 years and have stayed in a variety of accommodation including the 2 Four Seasons Hotels and the Amandari Hotel. When we arrived at Satori Villas we were stunned by the amazing views over a large expanse of rice fields. Never before had we had such a wonderful outlook and it continued to delight us for the duration of our two week stay. What we loved about Satori Villas is that we felt in touch with the authentic Bali and it’s beautiful people.

The staff were superb and at the end of our stay we felt sad to say goodbye. They greeted us with big smiles each morning, happily made us delicious breakfasts and were readily available if we had any needs or requests during the day. They took us to and from the centre of Ubud on motorcycles whenever we asked but mostly we liked to walk the short and fascinating small road ourselves. By the end of the two weeks we got to know several of the locals and it was great to stop and have a chat (despite our limited Indonesian vocabulary).

The Villa was expansive, extremely comfortable and with many areas to relax – both inside and out. It was filled with Balinese art and furnishings and surrounded by a fabulous tropical garden.

For us our stay at Satori Villas was a perfect combination of luxury and an authentic Balinese experience – we can highly recommend it if you are planning to visit Ubud.

“Our home-away-from-home !”

Our home-away-from-home. For about the last year and a half, we have been living part-time in Bali and Satori Villas has been our home-away-from-home. We have stayed in 2 BR Serena, 3BR Solera and 3BR Santana each for a several months at a time. We stayed in 1BR Siri for a few days.

They are all great, beautifully located in the rice fields with great views, good breezes, nice pools, and an attentive and lovely staff. Maybe the best thing is that Satori Villas are located right on a lovely rice field walk, and only a 10 min walk (or 3 min scooter ride) to town. They are a bit elevated from town, so it is noticeably cooler and breezier. And quieter – serene, really. I sleep great here.

The paved path is really nice for my morning walk. Every day I say hello to Nyoman the Coconut man, Wyann the artist, a series of people working in the rice fields, the art-shop owner at the front door, and the staff at a few restaurants along the way. Often I get a nice look at Mt. Agung or some of the other cinder cones in the distance. The wonderful Sweet Orange restaurant (5 stars on TA), right in the rice fields, is a 10 min walk. And all a 10 min walk from whatever stores you want in town – without the congestion.

As to the villas themselves…

All are well-built with good internet, good kitchens, and good electricity. 3BR Solera is great if you have guests because there are two levels, each with its own living room. Great veranda with dining table for al fresco meals or watching the rain (more in the winter). 2BR Serena is right-sized for the two of us, the pool doesn’t get much sun (which is what we like). Dining table is outside next to the pool and a great balcony with expansive views just outside the bedrooms upstairs. 3BR Santana has a wonderful open layout, a LR inside and nice chairs & couch outside as well, next to the pool. The views are more expansive here because it’s on the end.

You can’t go wrong staying at Satori Villas. They are wonderful!

“Wonderful escape in the rice fields”

Wonderful location. Clean tidy villa tucked amongst the rice fields. Loved how there were no cars – only motorbike or walking. Would definitely stay there again. Enjoyed sitting on the the balcony watching the farmers and ducks work the paddle fields. Really enjoyed the walk into town about 10 minutes. Perfect place.

“Wonderful”

I stayed in Satori Villas Bali, Banana. The villa is beautiful, all the bedrooms and bathrooms are large and beautifully decorated. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast every morning was a delight to wake up to. The pool is wonderful, overlooking the rice fields. Highly recommend a stay here!

What a delightful review, and we are all very proud to hear how much you enjoyed your stay at Satori Villas Bali. Banana is the perfect place for groups of family and friends, boasting 4 bedrooms and an infinity edge pool…you will feel like you are perched on the edge of the lush rice fields. We look forward to welcoming you all again to your home away from home!

“Paradise in the Paddies”

We could see from the online photos that the Villas were very nice, but what we really didn’t understand until we arrived was how noisy and chaotic downtown Ubud is and how serene and peaceful the Satori Villas are. It is a 15 minute walk from the Villas to the heart of the action but it is a world away. It was so nice to come back to the Villas after a day of exploration and luxuriate in the villas (we stayed in two different ones), especially those private swimming pools. At night the frogs serenaded us to sleep. Some days we just stayed there and enjoyed watching the rice farmers and the birds that frequent the paddies. If you don’t enjoy the walk like we did, the staff is always ready to give you a ride down the hill. And the staff… very nice and helpful. The driver, Gede, is helpful for day trips or airport runs. We knew we would like Ubud, but didn’t realize the lodging would be the highlight.

You have perfectly captured the location and experience of staying at Satori Villas Bali in your review, and we are grateful that you have taken the time to share this with the online TripAdvisor community. Satori Villas is the best of both worlds: close enough to be a part of the Ubud action if you wish, yet serenely worlds away in the rice fields. It is delightful to take the time to slow down and let the magic of Bali just happen to you, and our private villas are the perfect place to do that!

“We are 3 couples from Canada and we spent a week in this lovely villa. Breakfasts were wonderful”

The view from the upper bedroom was spectacular as we were surrounded by rice paddies. We cooled off in the pool after long days of walking and sightseeing. Restaurants were within walking distance to town about 15 min. down the road from the villa. Wayan and ketut take very good care of any of your needs. We would highly recommend this villa to anyone interested in staying in Ubud.

“Gorgeous villa amongst the rice fields”

Satori Villas exceeded our expectations. We arrived at around midnight and were still greeted by the lovely Komang who lives at the property. We stayed in Villa Siri which is a one bedroom, double story villa with a balcony overlooking the rice fields and a private pool. Every morning someone comes to cook a delicious breakfast in your kitchen. It is situated fairly close to Ubud centre (approx. 15-20min walk). The accommodation is on a steep hill which may be tough to walk for some guests however, they actually provide you with a mobile phone and you can call if you need a ride up or down on the scooter. Totally worth the hill for the beautiful location amongst the rice fields. Love this place and will certainly be back.

“The perfect getaway and amazing location in Ubud”

This was my second trip to the Ubud area of Bali. From past experience I knew I wanted to be able to walk into town, plus I want to be able to get out of the hustle and bustle, of Ubud and in a more calming area with views of rice patties.
Villa Satori met this wish, and then some. This villa was the perfect Ubud get away for my group (5 guys). The property is amazing, a show stopper, the main house and the guesthouse are well taken care of, with a nice decor. Pool is great for a dip at the start or end of your day. We started just about every day with the staff making a wonderful breakfast, while we sat out on the terrace listening to the roosters, frogs and ducks starting their day. The house, grounds and staff, nothing but positive.
They are also willing to go the extra mile for you. Leaving there was a misunderstanding with the driver I arrange to drive us back to Seminyak, they stepped in and arranged a new driver, and got our luggage into the van faster than you can blink an eye (mind you their moving the luggage down the hill on a scooter). I highly recommend Villa Satori in Ubud.

“Great paradise in the rice fields”

The location was beautiful. While a bit far away, it was only a challenging luggage transfer. Other than that we enjoyed the walks through the rice fields. Staff was unbelievably accommodating. We are high maintenance guests and they made adjustments as necessary. We had staff come to villa almost daily for services. Everyone was very punctual and helpful. Would 100 Percent stay again and recommend to others.

“Can’t wait to go back”

I stayed a week at Villa Satori and loved every minute. Just sitting looking out to the rice paddies is so relaxing and meditative. The location was perfect. Just a walk into town to shop and get a massage, but actually I never wanted to leave. The pool is the perfect temperature and I never needed air conditioning as the inside outside living was so easy breezy. The Villa has all that one needs and more. The staff took care of me so very well. If it rained the rain shades were put down, and then in 20 minutes when the rain stopped the shades were put magically back up again. The breakfasts were delightful and so healthy. Be sure to try Wayan’s papaya smoothy.

The Villa is brand new and yet has the old Bali feel with Balinese art and antiques throughout. My particular favorite touch is the private outside shower in the guest house. Looking through the bamboo at the green, green rice paddies after a swim was just the best. Can’t wait to go back to Villa Satori. I’ve told all my friends and they are ready to go. The owner, Kasey, was very helpful and answered all my questions and helped make my 3rd trip to Bali my favorite.

“Great home for an extended stay”

My wife and I have stayed here twice in the past 6 months, and enjoyed it immensely each time. We will definitely be returning. We looked at (physically visited) no less than 6 villas before choosing Santana for an extended stay, and there was really no contest. Of the important things we wanted, *ALL* were there at Santana. First, great open layout with large inside living room which opened to an outside sitting area and thence to the pool. Perfect indoor /outdoor living! The large kitchen and dining area also opened to the pool. Second, three large bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bath for guests or family. Plenty of privacy areas for sitting inside or outside. Third, expansive ricefield views from the two (actually, three) decks with good breezes, especially at the second story. Fourth, dedicated staff. Several of the villas we visited were serviced by a family member of the owners. We found that in this situation, we were often competing with the private life of the staff, and sometimes involved in the family dynamics between the owners and the staff (think: brother-in-law). Kasey and Rico own five or six villas all in the same area, so their staff is hired, not borrowed. Fifth, quiet and very peaceful but with a short walk or scooter ride to town. Sixth, no western exposure. That Indonesian sun is HOT in the afternoon! Seventh, it is homey. Several villas we saw were OK, but boring. Santana has nice art, including visual art, decorative pieces like dolls or puppets, and fine furniture, so it’s a home we would want to live in, rather than simply an adequate place to stay. All villas look GREAT on the internet. This one actually delivers.

“AWESOME!”

The Villa is so beautiful, clean, well taken cared of with dedicated staff 24/7 who cook breakfast for you, will do marketing for you, & will do errands for you at your beck and call. It has a very relaxing atmosphere, calming and just very peaceful. We decided to rent the Villa for a year and use as a base while we go around different Islands in Indonesia to scuba dive and always look forward coming ” home ” to the Villa after weeks of being away from it.

“A perfect villa in a perfect spot in Ubud”

We (4 adults) stayed at Villa Satori for a week and what a pleasant experience that was! The location between the rice fields were gorgeous and being away from the town was just so much more relaxing. The Villa itself is beautifully decorated with everything you need. The swimming pool is a good size and you can easily spend the day just lazying around the pool and Villa. Wayan and Ketut are great and we got spoiled daily with a complementary breakfast and even had the pleasure of Wayan’s dinner one evening .Booking the villa was easy with Kasey responding promptly and she also included a very detailed guide to the villa which was so helpful. All the photo’s on the website is a true representation of how the villa looks but I suggest go and see for yourself, you wont be disappointed. Thanks again to everybody at Villa Satori for a perfect Balinese holiday.

“Oasis in the rice paddies!”

Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay in this lovely, peaceful home. It was very hot while we were there; the pool was the perfect cool down after venturing out to visit the local attractions. The location of the home in the rice fields above the hustle and bustle of Ubud was beautiful. We especially enjoyed the early mornings, watching the sun rise over the lovely scenery. The night time symphony of frogs and crickets was spectacular! We especially enjoyed the local flora and fauna; the photos do not do justice to the mature lush gardens, dripping with tropical plants and flowers. Many different birds and butterflies visit the garden throughout the day. The rhythm of life in the paddies has its own charm. The staff, Wayan and Ketut, were lovely and helped us learn a lot about the culture on our first trip to Bali. Kasey was great to deal with, providing a comprehensive welcome package with tons of helpful information. Our two week trip served as a wonderful introduction to the unique Balinese culture; we hope to return when we have more time to discover more of this amazing island and its gentle people.
